oh lawd;
[it's a beautiful sunday morning. the sky is blue, the birds are out singing, and the neighborhood is as pleasant as can be.]
OI, ISHIMARU!
[until the loud roar of oowada mondo's voice reverberated through the street.
oowada has been patient. oowada has been nice. oowada has been waiting over two fucking weeks for ishimaru to come to him, to speak to him, to show him face, to fucking do something. instead the few times oowada has managed to catch sight of him he's been hanging around with some asshole from his school, who walks home with him, who apparently prevents ishimaru from picking up a damn phone and calling him.
and if that's how it's gonna be?
ishimaru isn't quietly brushing him off like some mistake made in the dark.
he's gonna tell him to his fucking face.]

[It takes a little while for Ishimaru to realize what Oowada is talking about, but as soon as he does, he makes a somewhat apologetic expression.]
...Yes, I suppose it has been, hasn't it. I've been very busy at school lately...
[Technically not a lie!!]

[at first, oowada hadn't cared. hadn't cared that because of his parents he couldn't call his house, couldn't be seen with him at the front gate of ishimaru's school. it hadn't mattered once he got ishimaru on his bike but now that he's been so totally avoided and cast aside, it bothers him. how he's some stupid secret who can't ever make the first move because someone might see him, might hear him.
he doesn't care now because he's angry, angry enough to storm over here in the first place. so what if they find out, so what if they know. is there even a them anymore anyway?]
crying i'm sorry this is so late
[If there's one thing Ishimaru is good at that he doesn't realize he's good at, it's dancing around issues. At least, issues like this. If someone needs to be disciplined, punished, or whipped into shape omg wow no matter how i worded that it sounded kinky as hell i'm so sorry, you'll be hard pressed to find someone better at it than him.
But when it comes to any other kind of interaction, he doesn't know what to do. Feelings, casual conversations, interpersonal relationships...despite having established a relationship with Oowada, it's the first meaningful one he's had for basically his entire life, and though he knows he has a lot of problems to fix, he doesn't even know where they are, let alone how to fix them.
And unfortunately, arguments like this seem to be the only way to find them, and even more unfortunately, arguments like this are something that Ishimaru is deeply uncomfortable with. So whenever something like this comes up, sure, he's still confrontational.
He's just confrontational about all the wrong things.]

...But if he'd known it would lead to this, he's pretty sure he would've refused immediately. The best he can do right now is answer Oowada's questions as best he can, in order to clear this up.
Ishimaru sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose before responding:]
Do you mean Arai-kun...? While he's expressed interest in walking home with me as of late, I've never invited him in. My parents know his name, but only in passing, and probably not well enough to associate it with his face.
...He is on the committee, but we don't have very much in common, so I haven't really spoken to him outside of meetings until recently.
